About Us

What We Do

HRH Partners provides consulting services for purchasing, inventory management and global sourcing.  We offer several programs that have a history of achieving outstanding results.

Our programs are:

  • Cost Reduction Initiative – A Four-Part program designed to give you a comprehensive review of your Supply-Chain organization, identifying cost reduction opportunities and improving efficiencies.
  • Benchmarking – A program that compares your current pricing for materials and services to the most competitive pricing for these same material and services.
  • Forensic Audit – A program that targets specific purchases, investigating the vendor selection process, invoice reconciliation and the competitive bidding structure.
  • Lean Processes – A program that examines your current purchasing processes, identifies areas for improvement and provides guidance to install a Lean supply-chain operation.

These programs are designed to reduce non-labor costs, create a new cost-awareness within an organization and streamline the entire Supply-Chain process.

Reducing Acquisition Cost Is Critical For Survival

The long-term economic outlook is for low inflation and stable supply chains, leaving opportunities to increase selling prices limited.

  • Pressure on margins will continue.
  • Cost reduction is more important than ever for increasing EBIT and improving margins.
  • Simply reducing headcount in response to difficult business conditions is not the answer.

Close the deal

Purchasing personnel are often spread too thin to do a proper job when it comes to reducing costs.

  • Purchasing personnel in many organizations have seen an expansion in their scope of responsibility.
  • Responsibilities for planning (MRP) and procurement have been merged into a single entity, often called the Planner/Buyer.
  • The Planner/Buyers find it difficult to complete their basic responsibilities and to meet the daily requirements to be purchased.
  • Lack of awareness, lack of time, lack of incentives and lack of specific skills have left strategic procurement and cost savings activities undone.

You Need To Have The Right People In Place

Negotiating cost reductions is a very confrontational process.  90% + of employees are not willing (or able) to be assertive enough to do this job.  It can also be difficult to seek price reductions when most of the dialogue with the vendor is about inventory and payment terms.  Long-term relationships with vendors often become personal.  Golf, dinners, sporting events, even joint vacations blur the lines of professionalism.  It becomes very difficult to ask a vendor for a price reduction if you’ve crossed the line from professional to personal.

The Principals

Charles J. Haugh

Charles has spent his entire 40+ year career in Supply Chain Management, rising from Rate Clerk in the Traffic Department at International Nickel to Vice President of Global Sourcing for Sulzer Metco.   His primary focus throughout his career has been on developing and implementing cost reduction programs and developing outsourcing operations with machine/tool and die shops and other third-party manufacturers, with additional emphasis on inventory management and cash flow improvement.  Charles’s Cost Reduction Initiatives have resulted savings of over $100 million for companies such as International Nickel, Westvaco, Kodak, Esselte and Sterling Drug.  He is a long term member of the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) and was, for many years, a contributor to the ISM’s Manufacturing Report on Business.  Charles has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and has run numerous seminars on reducing costs through assertive negotiations.

Jon Rosenberg

Jon has spent 39 years working in cross functional roles.    He started as an Industrial Engineer at Fairchild Republic Company building the A-10A “Warthog”.   He went on to work at Northrup Grumman as a Manager of Contracts/Cost Estimating.   He spent time in the Electronic Industry at General Instrument as Manager of Cost Estimating/Systems Development.   For  24 years, he had worked for Esselte Corporation in Supply Chain Management, as the Manager of Forecasting, Manager of Corporate Systems Development (ERP/MRP), Director of Materials Management and as the Vice President of Materials Management.    In that capacity, Jon had implemented cost reduction programs that contributed in excess of $ 100 million.   When Esselte was brought by RR Donnelley in 2014, Jon was asked to stay on in order to guide the cost reduction efforts for RR Donnelley.    He is trained in Lean practices and has implemented a highly successful Preferred Supplier Program that has focused on obtaining the lowest acquisition cost for both Raw Materials and Finish Goods in the industry.   John has a Masters of Business Administration degree and is a Certified Flight Instructor and possesses a Commercial Pilot license.
